Networks and address formats

Pick the network the recipient’s address is on. You can only send from a network where you have a wallet; setting up a ramp creates one.

  • Ethereum (ERC-20)Starts with 0x, then 40 characters. Mixed capitals are a checksum, so paste it exactly; a mistyped one is rejected.
  • Tron (TRC-20)Starts with T, 34 characters. Paste this form; the hex form (starting 41) is rejected.
  • Solana (SPL)32 to 44 letters and numbers.

Fees

  • No TheCoinRamp feeTheCoinRamp charges only on deposits and withdrawals to and from your bank.
  • A network feeCharged by the network, not by TheCoinRamp. It varies with network conditions.

Before you press Send

  • Compare the whole addressEvery group of four, not just the start and end. Look-alike addresses are a common scam.
  • Confirm the networkSending to an address on the wrong network will result in permanent loss.
  • Know it can’t be undoneBlockchain transfers can’t be reversed, cancelled or refunded.

Security

  • Large sends need a security checkYou sign in again with your second factor, then re-enter the transfer once.
  • New saved addresses have a 24-hour holdAn address you’ve just added to your Address book can’t take large sends until the hold ends.

Receiving

  • Use the address on your Receive pageEach network has its own address, with the coins it accepts named beside it. Anything else sent to it can’t be recovered.

Screens inside other companies' windows (Bridge, your bank, the security check) are illustrations, and every bank number and address shown is an unusable example. Stuck at any step? Email support@thecoinramp.com. All walkthroughs
